Bound Woman Key West Cemetery

The most peaceful place on the island. Situated in the heart of old town it is perfect place for collecting one thoughts or getting away from the hub bub of a tourist/service economy. This is the second cemetery for Key West. The first was destroyed in a hurricane. Lets just say the graves were not as were designed as they are today. Just about all the movers and shakers who built Key West are here and the graveyard is much better for it. Key West was the richest city in the USA for about 100 years.  The cemetery has monuments fitting a major metro area.   Landscaping is almost nonexistent in that there not enough room for the graves yet alone landscaping. If you visit Key West please visit the cemetery. Maps are available in a box as you enter the main gate. No scooters or motorcycles are allowed. Best bet for first trip through is bicycle or on foot. Lots to take in.
